Construction Industry Grievances: Procedures and Techniques



This seminar will focus on various issues that relate to grievances in the construction industry.  We will address how to distinguish between disputes relating to jurisdictional issues and other types of disputes, the reasons why it is important to distinguish between these types of disputes, and the differences in the Procedures for resolving such disputes.

We will also discuss some of the events and circumstances that commonly result in disputes that initiate the grievance process.  Such discussions will also address techniques and methods for avoiding grievances and for resolving grievances prior to a formal hearing.

The seminar will also address the procedures that apply to grievances under local collective bargaining agreements and the procedures that apply to grievances under the National Maintenance Agreement.  In addressing such procedures, suggestions will be offered concerning techniques for improving your chances for success in the grievance process.
